A LETTER TO DAD

I miss you. I am in a maelstrom, I am sinking. And all that. That's Life, huh?

I thought, today, my Dad died on the 4th of November, two years ago.

Today is the "anniversary."

I miss you Dad, and I love you Forever.

(Better words...later.)

I love you, Adam, and I'm sorry you're feeling like you're sinking right now. Sending you as much strength as I can.

Missing Dad too.

Me three. The Nov 4 date may have stuck in your mind because of election day. Wish he could have found out who won, he'd have gotten a real kick out of that. Love you. Get your ass out of that morass.

I'm the tar-baby, right now, sisters. (Whom I love so-so dearly.) Every action leads to tighter restrictions by the tensile strength of the tar-stretch. So be it. I can fight it; I'll most-likely fight it...and if I do? Money in the bank. I have its number. (I just keep calling it...no answer.)

As for Daddy B, I miss him and--I think--he looks down or across or up (not Hell; planes)--on me and says, Adam?! What the fuck? (Dad and I spoke that way, sometimes.)

It *is* a morass. And, while the news keeps getting worse? I know--I feel in my heart--that I will win. I'll grab a branch, or something. Maybe a hand. Or hands. Whatever....

P.S.A.: Kidz! Listen to your elders! They know of what they speak! Especially if they speak of Alcoholism! All the truisms, most of the legends and all of the physiologic anecdotes HOLD TRUE!!! Yes! You, too, can get DTs! Yes! You, too can lose your job! (Or come a cunt's hair width from losing said job!) Yes! You, too, can leave the food in the fridge and subsist only upon beer and, occasionally, liquor! What does that getcha?! All together, now: "Gimme an 'L'! Gimme an 'O'! Can I have an 'S'! How 'bout an 'E'! Grrrrr me an 'R', please! What's that spell?! LOSER! LOSER! LOSER! Yes!!! You have finally learned the Lesson of Life that is: *You* have to *learn* the Lesson of Life. On your own terms. Groovy, kids! Let's play some basketball!"

*Smile not to frown*

Sure, Life is twisted, sometimes, but some of us make it more twisted than it needs to be.

(Lou is still on Death's door, though. But? That ain't the half of it. Juicy, huh? No. "You're a fool, Adam." Who said that? I did. My name is Adam.)

Uplifting, much? Naw. Not usually.

But! I must say this: Peace and Love to everyone! (Including myself? Naw.)

ROFLMAO--why?

Peace.

Love.

Self-love.

Self-peace.

Booyah.
